Getting the ball rolling

What happens between now and your wedding?

1. Get in Touch

You can email me, submit a message on my contact page or give me a call to have an initial conversation about what kind of ceremony you are planning. At this point we can check in on availability and I can answer any initial questions you might have.

2. Initial Meeting

I think it's really important that you both feel completely comfortable with the person who will be stood with you on your wedding day. A conversation will help you get a feel of whether I am the celebrant you are looking for. This meeting can be in person or online, depending on your preference. I am flexible to meet at evenings and weekends.

3. Booking

If we all decide that we'd like to go ahead I will send you a contract and ask for a non-refundable deposit of £250. This will secure your date and I will not take any other bookings from other couples.

If dates or any part of your wedding changes from the time of booking I will do everything in my power to amend contracts as best I can, depending on my availability.

4. Your Story

My absolute favourite part of the whole process is hearing all about you as a couple and hearing your ideas for your wedding.

Our planning meeting will be a chance to go through all the options for the day, and most importantly to hear about you as people. This will come in really handy when I come to write your personalised ceremony.

Some people know exactly what they want by this point and others are excited to explore options they might not have come across. More and more couples are choosing symbolic acts (have you heard of hand-fasting or sand blending?) and music and readings that really mean something to them personally.  There are also many low-key ways to include your guests in the ceremony or the people closest to you.

5. The Ceremony Script

After our meeting I will go away and write your ceremony. You can trust that the ceremony will be personal and meaningful to you.

I will send you both a copy to read in plenty of time so that any changes can be made, until we are at a point where you are totally happy with the script.

Many couples choose to keep some surprises for the day of the wedding, such as their vows to each other. Having a little room for people to speak from the heart can add to the magic of the day.

6. Rehearsal

A rehearsal is a great opportunity to go through the ceremony and familiarise yourself with the venue. If you decide to have one I would attend and run through the script with you - there is no additional cost to you for this.

7. Your Wedding Day!!

This is the moment we've been building up to.

On the day itself I will arrive at least an hour before the ceremony is due to start and I will be there to greet guests as they arrive and be on hand if anything unexpected crops up.

I will be there to guide you through the ceremony so you can relax and enjoy the whole amazing experience.

8. Memories

In the same way that you book a photographer to have a visual memory of your wedding, I will send out to you a presentation copy of your ceremony and vows.
This is yours to keep and look back on in the future.
